Near the beginning of each month I generally update the Schrodinger portfolio as it requires no maintenance. Computers do all the management work as this is a Robo Advisor portfolio housed at Schwab. All the owner needs to do is save and sit back and let the market do its work. All I do is keep the transactions updated and that is what is going on this morning with this review. Since the last review no shares were purchased. One new cash deposit showed up plus a dividend from VTEB. Otherwise, no action.
Schrodinger Asset Allocation Holdings
Below is the current asset allocation for the Schrodinger.
The stock/(bond-cash) ratio is approximately 80/20. When this portfolio was initially set up I recommended the asset allocation focus on U.S. Equities while reducing the percentage allocation to International Equities. It you decide to set up a Robo Advisor account (highly recommended) the asset allocation will likely differ.
Schrodinger Performance Data
Since 12/31/2021 the Schrodinger managed to outperform all benchmarks tracked here at ITA. Not bad for a portfolio that requires zero work or attention.
If one is setting up a computer managed account I highly recommend adding new money each month so the computer will have ready cash to add shares when there is a market dip.
Schrodinger Risk Ratios
All risk ratios are higher than they were a year ago. I see where the Jensen Alpha declined this month, but it is still very early in the month. Should we see a recession in the third or fourth quarter of this year it will be most interesting to see how the Schwab computer handles market volatility. So far there is no response to the market volatility due to tariff uncertainties. It is “steady as she goes.”
