I’ve been telling anyone that will listen for over 2 years now that the Amazon Influencer Program is the easiest, highest success rate method to make money online that I’ve ever seen.
Claims like that deserve your full skepticism, obviously.
So, here are the biggest things skeptics of the model are saying.
❌ Myth: “You need a large following to get approved.”
Truth: Amazon just wants real people who make honest videos, I’ve seen creators get approved with under 300 followers on TikTok.
Yes, they want to see that you’re already creating video content elsewhere, but guess what, you can make that happen in less than 30 days.
Here’s the best route (this has been 100% success rate for my students)
- Create a TikTok account. The niche doesn’t really matter but just make it a general one with either your name or an original brand name of your choosing.
- Post 1-3 times per day for 30 days. The videos do not need to be long, original or even show your face.
- Apply. You get 3 chances to apply before they reject you for good.
You do NOT have to be a traditional, stereotypical influencer. No matter your age (as long as you’re over 18 of course) or anything else, they want you in the program.
Furthermore, the size of your following has no impact on how much money you make with “onsite commissions.”
❌ Myth: “You need to know how to shoot and edit high quality videos.”
Truth: Less is more in the influencer program.
You do not need anything more than your smartphone. The most editing you need to do would be cutting out dead air space or mistakes. 60 second videos of you briefly riffing about a product you have is all you need.
❌ Myth: “You have to buy all the items from Amazon, you’ll run out of products to review.”
Truth: You can review any item listed on Amazon, regardless of where you bought it or whether you even own it.
- You could review your in-laws new $5,000 fridge.
- You can review the TV you bought at Best Buy.
- You can review that mattress in the AirBNB you’re renting on vacation.
Yes, it will start to feel like you’re “running out of products” at your own house after several 100 videos, but you’d be shocked how many things you have to review. Reviewed your new hot tub? Great. How about the cover? How about the chemicals you use to clean it? There is almost always a hidden stream of additional products.

❌ Myth: “You can only earn about $1,000 per month at most.”
Truth: You can earn much more than that. The beauty is that more videos always means more sales. 1,000 videos right now almost guarantees $1,000/month, but what’s stopping you from making 2,000?
Yes, the earnings used to be higher ($5/video average earnings wasn’t out of the norm, and I had multiple friends earning over $10,000 per month in commissions), but they are still rolling in.
I get it, that feels like a lot of work though. But here’s what happens after you’ve established yourself as a big time reviewer with lots of videos.
Brands will reach out to you and give you FREE products + cash payments for reviewing their items. Oh, and you still get to earn commissions on the videos you post!
I got this $169 vacuum for free AND was paid to review it.
For someone, this is “full-time income” money.
You can even do things like my friend Lisa who sells a Fiverr Gig where she offers this as a service.
She sells several of these gigs per week and makes between $85 – $175 for each. She also gets to keep the products (which she can use or sell) and she still gets her standard Amazon influencer commissions.
