In this blog, we’ll be diving into one of the most exciting features introduced in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Wave 1 2025 release — the View Setting Feature. This new feature significantly improves the way users can personalize their views and manage data visibility across the organization, especially with the ability to apply security roles to views.
In previous versions of Dynamics 365, while users could customize views, applying security roles to control who can access specific views was not as straightforward. With this latest update, Microsoft introduces the ability to assign security roles to views, making it easier for administrators to control access to sensitive data while giving users more flexibility and control over their workspace.
Let’s Check For Enabling the Process
To update Dynamics 365 to the newest version:
- Navigate to the Power Platform Admin Center
- In the Power Platform Admin Center, select the environment where you want to update Dynamics 365 (e.g., production or sandbox).
- Click on Environments on the left navigation panel and then choose the environment you want to update.
- Click Update Now to begin the update process.
- Here you can click on Confirm button.

After successfully updating your Microsoft Dynamics 365 to the latest version (Wave 1 2025 release), you’re now ready to start exploring and utilizing the exciting new features.
To get started with the Wave 1 features, you need to access the view of an entity within Dynamics 365. Here’s how:
- Navigate to the Entity
- Select the view.
Once you’ve selected the desired view, you’ll now see the new View Settings options available directly within the entity’s view interface. Here’s how it looks.
Output:

In the View Settings, you’ll notice an option to assign security roles to the view. This allows admins to control who has access to specific views based on their role.
You can select from existing roles (e.g., Sales Manager, Support Agent, etc.) to ensure that only the relevant users have access to sensitive data.
- Now you can Click on save and publish.

Hope it helps!
